Seasons

IVR Temperature ranges can range from winter freeze to hot blistering summer so best time to visit would be the spring and fall time periods. Spring and fall are the time periods I normally visit this area and the best time to observe animal and plants do to the mild climate. Summer time is a trying time if you decide to hike. Temps reach well into the 90’s and low 100 degree range so proper precautions are in order, bring plenty of water.

Colors of Summer

Summer time at IVR can be hot and dry. Temperatures reach well beyond 90 degrees and with little shade; one can get themselves in a world of hurt if not properly prepared. This picture was taken on August 2004 during deer hunting season in a place called Oak Cove. Middle of the picture you can see a gravel covered road (light grey area) where miners used to reach their Ore. This area provides a decent trail for hiking and mountain biking but it is a steep canyon with some dangerous drop offs.  This particular day I was Deer hunting with my mountain bike and the temperature reached 98 degrees but felt much hotter since I hade very little cover in the way of trees. I spent more time taking pictures than actually biking but the bike allowed me to cover more ground than if I was on foot.

Colors of fall

Fall time at IVR can be pleasant time to visit. Temperatures start to fall to a comfortable range and colors of the landscape begin to change.
